Caxton's indulgence for Rhodes, 148081
This article reports the discovery of a complete copy of a Caxton indulgence (STC 14077c.107c), hitherto known only from binding fragments. It comments on the production and distribution processes for such ephemera, supporting Christopher de Hamel's suggestion that fragments of such material used in bindings should often be considered as 'pardoner's waste' rather than 'printer's waste'.
